My teenage son and I recently had the pleasure of joining a walking tour of beautiful Beaufort. Wynn was our guide. Wynn is a true gentle man and a natural storyteller. He charmed us with his intricate knowledge of Beaufort's history. His stories were a delightful mix of serious and amusing moments in time. And he even managed to hold a teenager's attention; a challenging task!
Wynn's historical tour of Beaufort has been the highlight of our trip to South Carolina.

What a fun tour! Our South Carolina hosts know Janet and took us on her tour of beautiful Beaufort. What a hoot!!! Not only did she know her stuff, she was energetic and funny, telling us stories along the way about the "real" Beaufort. A must-do if you're in the low country.

As a spur of the moment decision, we decided on a weekend getaway to Beaufort. We Googled on walking tours, found Janet, booked a Saturday afternoon tour and were definitely impressed and entertained. Our 2 hr.+ tour was full of details, humor and a little covert adventure. We had a great time and came away with additional recommendations for things to see and do in the immediate area. We would highly recommend Janet to anyone visiting the area.

Miss Janet gave my third grade class a wonderful tour of Beaufort. We were so blessed to have her as our guide. She shared her knowledge and sense of humor on our two hour walking tour. I was amazed, and pleased at how much the students learned from Miss Janet. When we returned to the classroom each student wrote ten new pieces of information they learned. Awesome tour...thank you, Miss Janet!

We spent two and a half hours with Janet and it was the highlight of our Hilton Head vacation. Janet has an encyclopedic knowledge of Beaufort's history and conveys it in an interesting and educational fashion. A "must do" if you're in the area!

I loved this tour. If you have one day or one thing to do in Beaufort, this should be it! Janet is charming and very knowledgeable about Beaufort. Her voice is beautiful and carries almost half a block, even though she is not raising her voice at all. She is a world-class guide with an insider's knowledge of historic Beaufort.

I was fortunate enough to take Janet's tour of Beaufort on a very chilly day last week. Thankfully the warmth of Janet's personality and her incredible knowledge and obvious love for the history of her adopted town took the chill out of every member of our group. Janet is funny, lovely, and can weave one heck of a tale about the history of Beaufort and the South in general. Do yourself a favor and do not miss this totally remarkable two hour experience. I look forward to doing it again when I'm back in town!

My wife and I recently visited the lovely town of Beaufort and took a 2 hour tour with Janet. During our week long stay in the surrounding area of Charleston and Savannah, Janet's tour was the highlight of all the tours we had. It is such a lovely area and Janet is so warm and friendly, it makes for just a great tour. Highly recommended.

Janet took us to ALL of the neat homes and areas. She pointed out the orange tree hidden in one back yard and a lime tree in another. She took us to the candy maker that had a replica candy line that was identical to the one from the famous I Love Lucy episode. She even planned for bathroom breaks!! Janet informed us about the vegetation and the history that permeates downtown Beaufort. Her enthusiasm was contagious and the tour was just plain fun.
If you take the carriage tour you will learn a bunch of history and marvel at the live oaks. But you will also miss so much....like the orange and lime trees, the delicious dark chocolate samples, the resurrection ferns, the tour of the graveyards, and the steps to get up into the carriages of the mid 1800's. You will also miss the story about the return of the bible. We highly recommend taking this walk with Janet.

Janet was the best 3 hour tour... Better than Gilligan's! She met us at the Rhett house for a delicious breakfast and from there we toured the history of Beaufort. Not only knowledgeable including the history of SC, the Civil war, area architecture, community and family(s) history. Janet is very accommodating to groups. I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with her.
